We all deserve the right to make decisions about our own bodies.

The ability to control what happens with our own body is essential to human dignity.

Montanans for Choice Woman Walking

Montanans for Choice is led by an Executive Director and a Board of Directors who are supported by a small but mighty staff. Our team represents public health researchers, social scientists, communications specialists, development professionals, and Indigenous leaders. Together, we have decades of experience in abortion advocacy, maternal and child health, sexual violence prevention, improving access to essential medicines and deep knowledge of sexual and reproductive health policy.

We work together to increase understanding and support for abortion and gender-affirming care. In partnership with allies and co-conspirators, we foster a sense of community around our shared values of freedom, justice, and autonomy. We strive to live and work in alignment with our values.

We are determined to see a world where everyone can live authentically in their bodies, express their gender identity without compromise, and love who they choose. We will continue our efforts until everyone can access the healthcare they need, including abortion, contraception, infertility care, prenatal, birth, and postpartum care, in their local communities and with love and support.

Our Values

LOVE

Love is our guiding force that fuels respect, justice, and connection—driving our care for ourselves, our communities, and future generations.

FREEDOM

Freedom means having the power to live with dignity and autonomy—making decisions about our bodies, identities, and futures without fear, discrimination, or political interference.

TRUTH

Truth is derived from our lived experiences, data, and history. It is necessary for a free, just, and democratic society, and we are committed to protecting, upholding, and sharing it.

HUMILITY

Humility is the practice of showing up with curiosity rather than certainty, listening, and learning —grounded in accountability, openness, and respect for the wisdom of others

COMMUNITY

Community is where we work together to lead with love, fight for freedom, speak truth to power, and grow with humility

OUR COMMITMENT TO JUSTICE AND EQUITY

We acknowledge that we are on the land of the Apsáalooke (Crow), Anii, Niitsítapi (Blackfeet), Selis-Qlispe (Salish-Kootenai), and Tséstho’e (Cheyenne) peoples, as well as the Gros Ventre, Assiniboine, Sioux, Little Shell Chippewa (Annishinabe and Métis), and Northern Cheyenne (Tsetsêhesêstâhase and So’taa’eo’o) peoples, and many others who call this land home.

Montanans for Choice is committed to building meaningful relationships that are based in learning, respect, and trust. We follow the wisdom, guidance, and expertise of Indigenous leaders when working in partnership to advance our collective freedom. We honor Indigenous sovereignty.

We recognize the historical and ongoing injustices faced by People of Color and Indigenous communities as it relates to bodily autonomy, and sexual, reproductive, and maternal health. We are committed to using our power and privilege to disrupt systems of oppression. We respect and are grateful for the visionary leadership of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in movements of liberation and justice.

Montanans for Choice seeks to listen, learn, and lead in dismantling systemic inequities.

  • We work to end government bans on federal and other forms of public funding for essential healthcare

  • We support abortion access as early as possible and as late as necessary
